There is enough West Virginia Mountaineers stock that most shoppers find their size and color on the first pass. The sport mix runs football, basketball and baseball, with football first. The color line does not wander: navy, gold and blue throughout. Sizes run men's, women's and youth, so a family buys in one pass.

Numbers and letters are stitched twill, sewn onto the jersey body rather than printed, so they sit slightly raised. Both the personalized and the plain cuts are stocked. If the house is split between West Virginia Mountaineers and Cincinnati Bearcats, the palettes separate them: navy against red and black. First-time buyers usually go with the color; regulars go with the name.
